About us

What does "Alamterra" mean  ?

The word alam exists in many languages: it means "the universe" in Arabic and Hindi, and more specifically "the natural world" or "nature" in Indonesian and Malay.

In some languages, alam refers to the verb "to know"—as in Tagalog, one of the languages spoken in the Philippines. Since terra means "earth", our name Alamterra means something like knowledge of earth and the natural world.
